This final project for my DS106 class takes the title of the course literally: Digital Storytelling. For this video, I took a scene straight out of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and turned it into a film noir style by flipping the color of the scene to black/white and muting it, using a suspenseful soundtrack in the background in order to keep to the space opera genre of the movie. I used title slides to help the audience understand what was happening throughout the scene.

Digital Storytelling, by far, has been the most useful course of my entire college career, and I have learned so much from navigating free software, that I used it for my final project to show that in order to make nice content, one does not need to necessarily spend any money on software, but have patience with online editors and no desire to fully “own” the content. Working within the ownership of another company definitely allows for greater focus on content, and I enjoy having certain limits in place, because it presents a fun challenge. All in all, I have enjoyed this course; I highly recommend it to anyone at any college or any point in their life.
